Bhaumik Pashu Suraksha works towards stopping the illegal transport and slaughter of cattle in and around the Almora region. In addition, the organization is working to rescue lambs and baby goats from being slaughtered as a sacrifice at the various prominent temples.
Bhaumik Pashu Suraksha is recognized by the Animal Welfare Board of Uttarakhand and is trying hard to become recognized by the Animal Welfare Board of India, headquartered in Chennai.
With the help of New Delhi based Friendicoes SECA, we organized stray dog Animal Birth Control (ABC) camps in Almora in the summer of 2009 and 2010.
